Pirates Cartoon

Last night I decided to enter the weekly Cartoon Competition held over on the CCGB PUBLIC FORUM - http://bit.ly/2lxncO

I've entered a few in the past, but not for a while. Anyway, the theme this week was "Pirates".

(No, we're not offering holidays to Somalia!)

4-night Autumn Cruise in the Highlands aboard Lord of the Glens

Lochs for less on Lord of the Glens. Cruise Scotland from £585 per person

Escape from modern life on this most compelling and serene of cruises, gliding along some of the most beautiful and enchanting lochs of Scotland, including the legendary Loch Ness. Other highlights include the Caledonian Canal, Loch Linnhe and Corpach, which rests in the shadow of the mighty Ben Nevis, as well as a visit to Duart Castle and Torosay Gardens on the Isle of Mull. Cruise departs 21 October, 2010.

Itinerary: Departs 21 October, 2010

Day 1: Arrive at Fort Augustus and board the Lord of the Glens. This evening there is a Captain's Welcome reception and dinner as you cruise towards Loch Ness. The boat is moored in Fort Augustus overnight.

Day 2: This morning, ascend a flight of six inter-connecting locks running through Fort Augustus. You will also cruise several man-made sections of the Caledonian Canal, across Loch Oich and Loch Lochy to Banavie. Once at Banavie , descend eight inter-connecting locks, known as Neptune's Staircase, which lowers the vessel to Corpach, Fort William. During the afternoon you will travel on the West Highland Line train to Glenfinnan and over the illustrious viaduct. Later see the Glenfinnan Monument before returning to the ship via Fort William and remain moored at Corpach overnight.

Day 3: The ship exits the Caledonian Canal this morning and enters Loch Linnhe. Enjoy a gentle cruise en route to the Sound of Mull and Craignure for a visit to Duart Castle and the highly impressive Torosay Gardens. Later, you will be driven towards Tobermory, where the Lord of the Glens will be awaiting your arrival.

Day 4: The morning is yours to explore Tobermory. In the afternoon you sail towards Oban in Argyllshire, enjoying the spectacular scenery along the way. Tonight there is a Captain's Farewell reception and dinner on board. The ship is moored at Oban overnight.

Day 5: Disembark the ship in Oban this morning, after breakfast.

Scotland's Problems with Midges...

Scotland has the most stunning scenery, and is especially captivating in the summer sunshine.
Unfortunately, that's when the wee beasties (midges) come out to bite. I drew a cartoon of an idea I had for combatting the nuisance...

Dalek Cartoon

Apparently last night's episode of Dr Who ended with the continuity announcer saying "If you've been affected by any of the issues in this programme..."
