Write a holiday travel feature for the Guardian...

The Guardian newspaper has announced a great competition for budding writers. Pen a holiday travel feature for them, and you could win a once-in-a-lifetime trip and a travel writing assignment.
There are eight fantastic holidays which will be awarded to the winners of each of eight categories.
The entries will by judged by the Travel team and an independent external judge for each category.

Egypt launches PR campaign to encourage Brits to return...

Egypt has appointed a London-based public relations agency to try to encourage British holidaymakers to return to the country whose image has been badly dented by the recent political upheaval.

It has hired Rooster PR to raise awareness of Egypt as a holiday destination despite the fact the Foreign Office is continuing to advise against all but essential travel to most of the country, with the exemption of the Red Sea resorts.

Naked Passenger Tasered at Manchester Airport passenger...

Police from Greater Manchester Police have just reported that police were called to Terminal One at the airport on the afternoon of 26 September following reports of a naked and drunk abusive man.
He was "dry Tasered" and arrested for being drunk.

Passenger Lands Aircraft at Humberside Airport, UK...

Humberside airport was put on alert last night after a pilot fell ill at the controls and a passenger, who had no flying experience, safely landed the light aircraft.
Two flying instructors were called in to advise the passenger how to bring the aircraft down.
