We are delighted to announce the introduction of an exciting new programme of voyages of exploration, aboard Astoria, in the largely undiscovered pristine waters of Mexico’s Sea of Cortez. The Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez) is one of the most ecologically diverse places on the planet and described as a ‘living aquarium’ by the famous French explorer Jacques Cousteau. From exotic islands to world renowned holiday destinations, these unique voyages present a chance to discover truly breathtaking nature, infused with distinctive Mexican culture. Visit eight contrasting ports on an 11 night cruise itinerary with a choice of sailings throughout December 2019 and January 2020. These ‘soft expedition’ cruises sail from Puerto Peñasco on the Mexican coast, a few hours drive from Phoenix, Arizona.
